Not sure if this is going to be ahead or behind the existing paragraph…we’ll see. After doing some investigation into what I thought might be a legitimate marketing tool, it turned out to be waaay too similar to the Good Ol MLM strategy (to be nice) and I’m not wanting to recruit lots and lots of other MLMs to boost my income. Thanks anyhow. So, it’s back to square one. Probably going with what we already have on our Keel Kountry Store site, almost totally using dropshippers for our products. I am, however, going to steal a technique from, uh, wherever I first heard it — different web sites for different products, all linking to one another. That way, if someone clicks on the NASCAR site and just happens to see a link to a chocolate site and then they see a link to something else, and then….. Anyhow, I’ve been getting ideas, both on what TO do and what NOT to do. That’s a good thing. Next thing to research is what I REALLY get (other than ads) on the supposedly “free” web sites. If the ads ain’t terribly intrusive, they might be OK. It would sure be nice if we could just get one bringing in some $$, then we could use some of that to get another site started, etc., and so on and so forth.

Just writing a blog is not necessarily going to bring hoards of visitors to our site, but it’s supposed to help. Still working on understanding that. I could be writing the world’s best how-to book, or suggestions for sleepaholics, or chocolate addicts, but if no one else reads them, what’s the point? Going to try creating a presence on Facebook, Twitter, etc., and see if that helps.

Suggestions welcomed.

This is an experiment to see if blogging is all it’s claimed to be. For those who have been doing this since “blog” was a new word, just bear with me. Diaries can be dangerous, but only if things are written that should have been kept in a cage. Blogging, on the other hand, can be an excellent to keep track of what was done when and why and did it do any good.

Some business stuph may sneak in as well. We have started a web store and had fun building it. However, it is NOT necessarily true that “if you build it, they will come”. This blog is in hopes of changing that to “we built it and they DID come”! We’ll see what happens.
